RETINAL: Triggers molecular switches in skin cells, called retinoid receptors. These influence various intracellular processes by activating cell growth and differentiation, promoting the synthesis of the elements comprising the extracellular matrix (ECM), and bio-protecting the cells against premature senescence.

RETINOL: Improves the epidermal architecture and restores normal epithelial function, enhancing hydration and strengthening the skin barrier. Retinol is helpful for preventing and combating the initial signs of ageing. Its epidermal effect promotes the elimination of fine lines and micro-wrinkles. Regular use of the product helps improve skin firmness and radiance.

SUCCINIC ACID: This dicarboxylic acid plays a vital role in mitochondrial function, as part of the respiratory chain and Krebs cycle. It's a component of the citric acid cycle, and donates electrons to the electron transfer chain through the reaction: succinate + FAD – fumarate + FADH2. As such, it aids in ATP production and in revitalising fibroblasts. As a copper chelator, succinic acid also helps prevent skin hyperpigmentation.

Reconstituted NMF: NMF plays an important role in hydration, as its deficiency results in a water loss in the corneum estimated at around 25%, and a reduction in its elasticity by 66%. It consists of a combination of substances with strong hygroscopic properties, which increase water retention from the external environment in the stratum corneum, making it soft and flexible.
